Why is it that Pacific Islanders, especially those who adopt a more American (mainland) diet, so given to fat? Please recognize this as genuine curiosity and not judgment. My evidence is anecdotal but very strong. I literally thank God I do not run to fat because I know without question that if I did I would be as fat as Iz and other Pacific Islanders - instead of my presumably emaciated Gaeltacht ancestors.
