Bands cover the bands they grew up on because the bands they grew up on kicked ass. That's what they do. It isn't about 'nobility' or 'taking a risk.' It's incredibly rare that a cover is ever "better" than the original. This isn't Isis trying to play the song better than Godflesh, it's Isis' tribute to Godflesh for providing the framework for their earlier sound. It's a thank you note. Both Godflesh and Isis fanboys need to shut up about who's the "better" band.
