He is an ordained minister. The Chicago Theological Seminary ordained him in 1968.

Amen. He was totally underrated. If you ever listen to this concert on CD, his guitar is way out front in the mix of this song. But what the hell, it was the early 1970s.

Correction...make that "Donuts and coffee." Regardless, Jackson was little more than a court jester.

About the ONLY thing Jackson did was bring some attention to the civil rights moverment cheifly because of his lime light antics. In any practical manner, he was, and remains, a minor essay and nothing more. He was never an important leader, neither did he offer any important original thought to the modern concept of civil rights. He has made a career of being a hanger on and camp follower. Jackson wouldn't deserve the task of fetching nonuts & coffee for a great man such as Martin Luther King.

AW crap! I figured you were a little kid or something. Well, that card didn't play right. OK, I'll accept your spin as valid. However, I still say we shouldn't be too hard on him. Just ignore him like the washed up person he is. I still maintain that he DID contribute to the civil rights cause and shouldn't be spat on for his recent transgressions...just ignored.

I was alive back then, junior, and well aware of the bullshit that is "Rev." Jesse Jackson. I agree, you should learn you history, boy. In the mean time, as noted before; get your head out of your ignorant ass, it's too dark in there to see that he has ALWAYS been USELESS.

One of us was alive back then. Yet one of us read a little something on Wikipedia then watched some recent internet videos of Jesse being a goofball lately. Although he is useless now, best believe he had a use back then. Know your history boy!

"a champion for freedom" ??? LMAO!!! He was a champion of being a wanna be camp follower of Martin Luther King, and nothing more. He was and still is, a classic opportunist and leach. Learn your history, my ignorant friend. Jesse Jackson is a 100% nothing! And what is a true Christian "mimister" doing with a mistress, aka, Karin Stanford? Who he, in fact, knocked up; Ashley (b. May-1999). Get your head out of your ass and get your facts straight. Jackson is a loser.
