yeah, last time I saw them was somewhere by holloway road too, biddy mulligans or the holloway. they were very tight, great bass player, some time late 1990 or early 1991. at end of gig some woman and a burly bloke (regulars) told us all to donate at least £5 to the cause (IRA) lol.

Yes, I remember all their songs, I still have their tape! Rock on Rockall and Christmas in Australia, used to go to the George Robey as well, Malcolm ran that. I so miss them and The Connolly Folk and now the Hop Poles is so naff. Last time I saw Irish Mist was at the Victoria in Holloway back in 1991

@someawine Hey, me too. Regular trips down to the Hop Poles on a Wednesday evening to see Irish Mist and empty a few glasses of something refreshing with a good friend of mine. Have you heard their version of "The Green Fields of France"? Brilliant.

@someawine My god, I used to go to the Hop Poles regularly - Wednesday nights - just to see Irish Mist and tip up a few glasses with a friend.

@LouDawgy - matter of taste. Most long-time fans of Irish music that I know think KH's is over-produced and sugary and demolishes the folk simplicity of the tune. But each to his/her own.

I love this group! I used to see them at The Hop Poles in Hammersmith in the eighties. I also have their tape that they sold at the gigs, pre CDs! They used to run the Sir George Robey in Finsbury Park, and put on gigs by The Pogues among others. Happy days!
