This is a great country tune. My parents, grandparents were definitely not wasteful spenders, but all the kids, cousins, in-laws and out-laws all had a wonderful time when we were all together. That Kentucky hospitality is a very real thing in my family. Love this tune. Iris and John do it proud.

Get a guitar/dulcimer...start playing chords, you do have 5% of their talent. Just have to get it out.

@RICHARDRATFINK GREAT point. But sometimes that's just the way it works unfortunatley (spell check, I'm a little buzzed).....and sometimes great artists make great works their own, too.

What a sweet and charming classic. I wish I has 5 % of the talent these great artists have.

A comment implies that possibly John Prine wrote this song. It was written by Bobby Braddock, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Braddock has contributed numerous hit songs during more than 40 years in the industry, including 13 number-one hit singles. Some of the best writers never get to be "iconic."
