I absolutely love the Indigo girls...and I live in Gainesville. Makes me sad that people are so intolerant, but I can't disagree with their assessment. Times are changing though. :)

Their best songs deal with social issues/causes, Shame On You, Go, Sugar Tongue, It's Alright, etc. For me, their best will always be Sugar Tongue, but this one is way up there.

why not just enjoy the song and the feeling behind it instead of argueing? isn't that what's already wrong with this world as it is??

At least I'm not logging on to the internet and calling people mean names like you are.

Further ignorance on display. Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race. There are white Hispanics, black Hispanics, mestizo Hispanics, Native Hispanics... You're deeply clueless on this- as in, you have no knowledge whatsoever- so you probably shouldn't log onto the internet and talk about it, since you look like a huge ass.

No, but Mexicans are Hispanic, and Hispanics are a race.

Ignorance. "Mexicans" aren't a race, no more than "Canadians" are a race. You'll find that most people who dislike them do so with very little regard to whatever race they happen to be. If they hear speakin' Spanish, it riles up thar' dander! For the record, I have no fear of people from Mexico and actually like that culture a great deal. Both sides of the issue, though, are dogma-chanting, mindless partisans.

@ChrisCoxRox77 disagree, my favorite was Get Out The Map, but this song is awesome too.

@robpatzfan17 they did the same thing when they played it on the radio. The song was released to radio before the actual CD came out, and before I bought the CD, I thought the line was, "I keep it up," lol.

@nowheretosit 1. It's racism because the song is about Mexicans. 2. Nationalism is just as much a form of bigotry as racism. Unless you're 100% Native American, your ancestors were once foreigners, too.

@nowheretosit on the contrary, i think this is one of the most patriotic songs I've ever heard, along with "Coming To America" by Neil Diamond. I pull out my guitar every July 4th and play both songs.

@nowheretosit wow, that's one of the most racist things I've ever heard.
