I concur. Their music is sometimes interesting, intense, laid-back, moody, angry and always evolving. I never understand why they get so much harsh criticism for wanting to experiment. They deserve kudos for being edgy and adventurous.

i dont think they started to make their new different stuff just to be mainstream. its a band that i actually think that loves the music that they play, and are one of the few bands that after getting recognition still play lots of songs from the older albums. I dont like their new stuff too but they're still a pretty decent band around nowadays

I've seen more than a few interviews of the band and they (Mike, specifically) simply stated that they deliberately try not to recycle sounds and are more for creating something new each time. The album was recognized enough, I mean we (you and I and everyone else here) clearly LOVED the tits out of it...to them (from my understanding) the band was more about them evolving as musicians rather than (to use a quote from Brandon) "pandering to their fans"...hope this helped clear things up brotha.

They are still, but if u ask me, no one knows their new albums or songs because they are just mainstream, nothing original there.
