Demonstrating once again how absolutely beautiful a pure melody can be. Simplicity at its finest. Poetry about a broken/struggling relationship sung with a purity of tone that has become all but completely absent in pop culture "music" over the last decade. She moves so effortlessly between natural tones and head tones with virtually no break in sustain. Very nice retake on an already moving piece of music and composition.

Is this about an alien invasion? Are the aliens trying to justify the destruction and abduction of much of humanity? Is the protagonist being a passive aggressively sarcastic about the situation to an extent that angers the new overlords? I think yes!

Well, crap. It won't let me post the link, but youtube search for Imogen Heap Just For Now with Interview. Zach Braff will be in the opening.. Seriously, she's a lot more talented than some of our pop stars (who are 100% auto tuned). I'm curious to your reaction.. Then again, maybe I'm just a biased Music Major and fan.

A vocoder is not AutoTune; It doesn't not reconcile pitches. It splits whatever note/syllable is sang into it and, depending on keying and finger position, splits it into the corresponding chord(s). What you're hearing is her raw voice, accompanying herself on harmony(ies). Check this out and then maybe you can appreciate her voice a little more. Her voice is unique and imperfect, but Imogen's talent isn't just singing. It's composition; Let me know what you think.
