Red Simpson performed his original song "I'm A Truck" at Risi's Pond Country Jam Fest 10/2/2011. I'm the guy with the video camera recording Valley Musicians Benefit in Pixley, California. I felt a little awkward as I approached him leaving the stage, but I sure looked forward to meeting him. After introducing myself, I ask Red's permission to put his song on "YouTube". His reply caused me to burst out laughing. Red Simpson told me , while shaking my hand - I could put that video anywhere I wanted! I'll always wonder what he meant by that answer. I gave him the name of our band, Raisin Cane and said we would be on stage later. He even spoke about joining us on stage a little later. Red Simpson , it was an honor to meet you.

This guy is one of a kind!!! Who can play guitar and sing like this at the Same time. He may not be very cool to the younger generation but, then again, the younger generation, doesn't know anything about the truckin' blues, do they? You try to write a song like this, these songs come from experience not just imagination but no, now country music is now just about cow-girls in sexy boots swingin' their hips- if Hank was here he'd have to say something about Taylor Swift + country + sex = SHIT!
