Well known for wild and energetic live shows and cover versions, their sixteen years relationship was often overshadowed by Ike Turner's physical abuse of his wife. The Phil Spector produced "River Deep - Mountain High" ought to cost more than US$ 20.000.- but flopped badly upon it's release in the United States. Since the re-release in 1969, it has become one of Tina Turner's most signature songs.

1971? I was 14 years old. But, I remember watching Ike & Tina a lot. My mom really liked Tina. There was some great music on the tube in the late 60s and early 70s. I was a big SoulTrain fan. :08 years ago
