Johnny Rotten was the frontman of the Pistols, not Sid. And I do agree on not discerning between "hardcore" and "melodic hardcore". Some of the first hardcore bands out there were melodic (Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys), but were simply called "hardcore" at the time. It wasn't until later on when band like Filth and such came along that people started to distinguish, and it really only caught on in the 90s with Pennywise.

For your info Glam started in Punk not metal. Let's not forget how many real punk bands are there now? Only a very small hand full. While in metal there are tons of great bands and still more new bands coming out. You know what damn near killed punk? That is the pop-punk stuff. Some people think that is real punk. Like I said I am into both punk as well as metal. I have been into both for a very long time.
