This second solo effort by Dale Thompson is much different from his first. He combined the talents of the region's most talented musicians to assist him this time. This recording, like his first, is a concept that shows one man's struggle through life. Many of the stories that are incorporated are
from Dale's past. Using real horns, keyboards, and many other unusual instruments, Dale produced a very believable blues recording. This record is available in stores and was originally distributed by Rugged Records.
Lyrics:
I thought I found God living in a cardboard box
He was chewing a two inch cigar
and He had a slight cough
His hair was dull and white
He had a road map for a face
Once he thought he ruled the world
now he found he had no place
He said He gave up on man after 1963
Cause everybody seemed to love their pain
and enjoy their misery
He said people stopped listening
to what he had to say That's why Eden had been pushed so far away
If God is dead who keeps us alive
Who paints the pretty rainbows up in the sky
How would we know the grace of God
without the sacrifice
How would we know true love unless he gave us his life
Spitting red man between the pigeons and the cracks
Leading karaoke on the subway tracks
He never talked about dying
or raising from the dead
But He ask me if I could hear the voices ringing in his head
