"Dusty Pages" is another rare clip from Australian band "Icehouse". It was the first third single from their 1984 album "Sidewalk" & reached #82 on the Australian Aria charts in the same year.

Icehouse is an Australian band, originally billed as Flowers, best known in Australia in the late 1970s Sydney pub scene and later in the early to mid 80s for more mainstream success and radio airplay in Europe and the US.

At the same time you may also like to explain to the fans why they cannot access this classic material in a decent quality digital format anywhere else?

"You won't make a profit on something that cannot be purchased but enough exposure may well help sell what you actually do have for sale. Meanwhile to share ones talents is the greatest of gifts!"

Please also be aware that all videos uploaded to YouTube are format shifted by the host website from the original files. This can often cause picture & sound deterioration (i.e. mono audio) as well as the occasional video/audio synchronization issue. The files are also deliberately layered on our end with logos and artists links in order to prevent YouTube recycling by lazy up-loaders, while at the same time helping to promote the artists themselves!

Another trick the music industry did to cash in was with greatest hits CD's is not all the best hits are included on purpose so your forced to buy the albums just to get one song. But now years later thanks to The Internet and file sharing, you can now cherry pick what every you want.

Yes, I recall the original version of this track is the best and it and got the all air play on radio, but some years later when I went to buy the CD greatest hits a different later revised version was on there and Its not as good, band "the police" also did the same thing with the song "don't stand so close to me" the original was excellent the modern version was crap. It must have been done deliberately so you have to buy the original album just to get that proper radio version of the song.

Much more 'Sidewalk' style this version. I like every version of this song though, its such a great song.

Forgot how depressing this video was. On the one hand, I miss music like this, but on the other hand, I don't mind missing it that much. Just like real life downers.

There was an extended version of this song, with a quirky but really fascinating video clip, here, on YouTube, that sadly was removed by the uploader just recently....Has anyone else seen it, or know anything about it?

The funny part was after listening to the tape for about an hour, it suddenly occurred to me that the singer sounded like Iva Davies (yeah, that's because it IS Iva, but at that moment in time I didn't know for sure). I was suddenly like, "Hey I think I know who this is". And I was right! :)

Yep, i do prefer the album version - the single version was more upbeat - in tempo, but those lyrics are still there. love your work Iva.

About a year ago, I was hanging out with a friend who was telling me that she had this tape which had a bunch of songs on it that she couldn't identify. So she puts the tape on, and I'm thinking it's very 80's sounding, but I couldn't figure out who it was. We were able to surmise that the songs were all by the same band, but neither of us recognized any of the songs. I had to remember the refrain "Don't say it's over, don't look away" until I got home and could google the lyrics! Crazy, huh?

I much prefer this version of the song for some reason. The lyric is presented edgier and with more feeling than the "single" version. Maybe the whole "death" feel has a symbolism to changes that Iva was going through at the time?? I remember an alternate video for "Don't Believe Anymore" where he sheds from a cocoon. Quite graphic? Not really! Artistic? YES!! :)

I find this pretty disturbing, but not in a negative way. I had the cassette of this album back in the 80s and played it until it broke. Thanks for the upload.
