He choked the end bad. Sounded good though. Ripper owns this song. Not even close. And I love Barlow.

From someone who has the same highest chest note as Barlow, this is a really tough song to sing. It's hard to reach the note in chest voice and it's tough to sing in your mix like that for so long. I think he did fairly well considering he was sick and the precarious placement of the verse melody. It's not that he can't sing as high as Ripper but the timbre is completely different. Listen to a baritone sing a note and have a tenor sing the same note and the overtones make it sound completely different.

everything here in my opinion: on this song i prefer the ripper 'cause check this out: /watch?feature=endscreen&v=AOZnvWrld-g&NR=1 the ripper is always asskickin' good but on the whole iced earth thing, as a die hard fan, i really miss barlow he's the man! here the proof: /watch?v=5_hrCRABugo - owens violate /watch?v=Ws6W8dkupWU barlow violate

Hmmmm....This song fits perfect to Owens. On the other hand, songs like I Walk Alone fits to Barlow. Both of them are awesome, unique! Stop fighting who is the best, cause you will never reach to a point.

Damn it, Matt is a very good singer, but I don't like how he sings this song at all. From the three main singers I like Stu the most. I have checked a lot of concerts with Stu (even with a camera from the audience) and he is an amazing live performer.

Warrel Dane is in a class of his own. As much as I love Ripper, Barlow, heck even Geoff Tate... none can compare to Warrel Dane. Not even talking about his range either. He's got such an incredible dynamic to his voice, and can convey every emotion across the board flawlessly. Everyone else just seems like a gimmick when pitted against Dane. No singer sends chills down my spine like he does.

i dont know why all you people are trying to claim ripper has 6 octaves his vocal range is B1-E♭5 and he can falsetto to B5. barlow's can fry down to F♯1 and his full voice is C♯2-F♯5 with falsetto going up to B♭5 so barlow actually has four more notes to his vocal range compared to ripper. im done here neither has 6 octaves. especially not ripper

wow 6 octaves! thats unreal! even an 8-string guitar hast "just" almost 5! one question: do you know, how many octaves Eric Adams (Manowar) got or Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth)? that would be nice to know to have a comparison and these to guys can sing also very high and pretty low!

6 octaves?? no way! singers like Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash) and Mariah Carey (not the best example, but also one) have kinda like 4 1/2 octaves or 5 of range.... I don't think the Ripper has a vocal range of 6 octaves! but if it is so, there is nobody who can beat that!

Lyrical error aside - what singer hasn't done that at least once? - Barlow absolutely OWNED this song.

Amazing effort from Barlow, doing vocals on a Ripper song. Both are amazing vocalists but for me Matt Barlow rulz any day. Look at his stage presence with long hair or short, look at the emotion behind his vocals, i strongly feel that playing on stage specially for a lead vocalist is not simply to stand in one corner and sing well but also to compliment the band and also involve the crowd.

I just realize he failed the first part of the song XD he repeated the part of "We'll charge into the fire" lol

@kranen1 disagree completely, I think Barlow takes a way better stab at Ripper songs than vice versa, also don't forget he was sick this day. Can't wait to see Stu Block do both their songs haha as well as Dystopia stuff of course
