That is so cool that you played this in Afghanistan, your right it's the same principle. One of Kansas's very best ever.

+ Christopher Jennings PendersThe way my infantile mine sees Kansas is wow what musicianship! And the way I hear them is Steve=the soul, Kerry=the writer, Phil=the drumming master (and very under rated), Rich=very capable, and Robbie=unique. Love me some Kansas anyway anyone hashes it.

This song reminds me of loading up in a Humvee and riding out the gate in Afghanistan in fact I used to sing this as I was loading up.

Maybe I have to re-listen to that album... but for me, after Monolith they went southwards musically... but I believe VC is the first album w/out the original band. No Steve Walsh on vox. "Play the Game Tonight" too pop for my taste, but it did well on the radio charts. In fact, I recall "Audio-Visions" didn't sit well w/ me, either... They were huge for a decade, & then they changed. C'est la vie. I like this recent (13 years old now!) album. Then there's the lost now found Proto-Kaw!!!

Well... I get what yewr saying, but Metallica (highly influenced by bands such as Kansas, Rush & Sabbath) are incredible in their own vein... just faster, different. But for me, yea, I prefer Kansas... love the mix of classical, jazz, blues, hill-billy, hard rock, intelligent lyrics... Pure genius!

KANSAS LIVES!!!

I loved this band way back then, when they were still the original act w/ Walsh & Livegren... something changed, I forgot about them (w/ the occasional listen)... then I rediscover them & have been listening nearly unstop for the past few years. So glad I saw them the few times I did from '78 to '83. Once w/ that Elefant guy that didn't sit well w/ me. I heard Steve Morse played w/ them. Morse is great. But, so glad to find the true band recorded this 1 final album & part 2 of Icarus is genius.
