Okay, Okay ... lol ... I'd seen this before, but I finally got the joke. He was bobbing his head up & down through the fog while kneeling and it prompted somebody to shout out ... " It's Ronnie Dio " ( The Mighty Midget ) because he appeared to be short because of the fog. Too funny.

I saw the concert in 83 in Denver. They sounded damn good live. The opening band absolutely sucked. They were called rough cut and they sang a Janis Joplin song and instead of saying Cmon! Cmon! like Janis they said rough cut, rough cut:( I still have nightmares. lol

I'm so glad he only stayed for one album. It was a horrible combo that needed to end.

I'd love to know why "Trashed" was never played live

LOL. GREAT story!! Ian Gillan is so personable, humble, and tells a great story. Great singer too, of course, but he doesn't take himself too seriously, especially when it comes to his Sabbath experience. I've had Born Again on cassette and CD, and while the cover art IS awful, it's actually a great album full of very strong songs such as Trashed, Disturbing The Priest, Zero The Hero, Digital Bitch, Hot Line and even the surprising power ballad Keep It Warm. Gillan did what he could and - all things considered - did an amazing job.

Born Again is one of the most underrated metal albums of all time. It's excellent. The production is crap but it's still a satisfactory piece of work in my mind!

Dio, Gillan and Hughes. My three favorite singers in the same band one after the other. Iommi and Blackmore were lucky guys to have these singers.

lovely - I saw them on their only UK appearance at Reading - it was pretty good but Gillan sure didn't know the words but it didn't matter - we sang for him (Big Country were on before and amazed everyone by being great)
