I'm pretty bummed that "Shopping, Shopping" isn't uploaded to your channel. :(

This is so good! I was thinking about this the other day. How could you cover this song, and not loose that punch that makes it so good? These are great vocals. Thanks for sharing!

Just perusing through XTC covers. This is one of the tops. Cracker Jack job (I bet you hear that even less than Mega)

@terminalmf I guessed it was something like that. Drum programming is tricky. Oh well, they aren't too bad anyway.

@Oenols Man oh man, thank you so much! I never figured this track would get as much attention as it has, but there aren't too many XTC covers on youtube I s'pose so maybe it makes sense. I agree with you that the drums lack punch (among other things); they were done in Ultrabeat, Logic's factory drum synth, which leaves alot to be desired (must've been before I got BFD)... and then there's the issue of my amateurish mixing ability. I'd love to remix or rerecord this one day... (sigh)

@Joejoesan You're right about that - lots and lots of sonic weeding through to do. The disappointed is still sitting on the cutting room floor waiting for the vocals and keyboards; I've been so busy with work and real (original) music that I haven't been doing much with the covers (which I don't like, I wish I could do music full time). Anyway, thanks again. Youtube isn't emailing me about comments anymore so I missed this whole to-do over who wrote it.

Brilliant cover of probably my favourite XTC-song. It's amazing how these usually pretty straight-forward rock'n'roll-guys (when Drums and Wires was realeased, anyway) could pull off such an ambitious (and noisy!) track. Truly outstanding. Back to your version, it's great, although I feel the drums lack some punch compared to the original. The wurlitzer or whatever it is is a great addition. You did it justice for sure.

@thequeueMusic This version was not done by me, but Ian (terminalmf). But yes, it's a great cover! I'm specialized in watching Youtube, not performing on this channel :-)

@thequeueMusic Are you certain? I know Colin wrote this, didn't he? I always thought that he sang it as well. Nevertheless, what an epic song!

@terminalmf My pleasure, Ian. I'm not a musician, but I guess that those XTC songs aren't the easiest ones to do. So you have my respect! Looking forward to hearing your version of The Disappointed!

@absolutlooney Whoa! I'm mega glad. Also, mega is definitely a fringe adjective that doesn't see enough use; I'm going to move it up a few rungs even though it may eventually spell a demotion for the current favorite 'super-grand.' Thank you!

@Joejoesan I think your comment is the most epic thing on this page - definitely surpasses it's subject by a great deal. I've tossed the idea of T.I.N. around in my head but I think my next one'd be something a little more lush and melodic. I'm STILL working on finishing up a live version of The Disappointed (which will likely be nearly verbatim, similar to my King for a Day video) - it's better for me to pick simpler songs for live stuff though, sadly.

My God Ian! You covered the ultimate XTC song? The game that ends all games? The one that goes through the stargate and beyond? HOW DARE YOU! Hahaha! Just joking. I must say that your version really really makes a big IMPRESSION. You made the song your own instead of just imitating Colin Moulding. Well done! I hope that maybe one day you'll climb that mountain of Nihilon :-) Until then, keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more XTC stuff. Greetings from Joejoesan from Amsterdam
