Lyrics!I grew up blind just like everyone’s child In the warmth of milk and deceit Smothered by love and the chemical dust There was never enough to believe They chewed me up, they spat me out Of their system and onto their street And the rest of my life was a sprint to forget All the greatness that could never be Oh beautiful town I remember you blacker than night The whores and the sick-mouths The bad taste and the neon lights Oh beautiful town Where are you now with your binge insecurities? I shut you down, beautiful town Because you tear your children Into pieces Absence twisted with fondness Is the horror I couldn’t forget Programmed in the great art Of family, lies and debts Too much expectation Followed by hope and then hate in the mess And the rest of my life was a glorious testOf my will and my selfish neglect Oh beautiful town I remember you blacker than night The whores and the sick-mouths The bad taste and the neon lights Oh beautiful town Where are you now with your binge insecurities? I shut you down, beautiful town Because you tear your children Into pieces On the floor boards under insolent feet I mapped the hopscotch to my parents’ retreat With a lavender bag in my hand And words of desperation on my tongue Good night father, good night mother Are you still awake?

If anyone were to ever ask me? I think Chris Corner doesn't belong in this generation. He's way too ahead of his time and it almost seems like he's not from this world. Anyone that aware of sound, and what to do with it, deserves all the love and respect I'm capable of sharing.

this anthem of a "beautiful town," with its eager drumming rhythm and sweet, soaring vocals, is so melodically upbeat that you would never expect the lyrics to be about slums and prostitutes and living on the street and a city that tears its children to pieces...and yet they are. (musical genius chris corner strikes again)also someone make a movie set in an urban dystopia and put this song in the credits pleeeeeeeeeeease

Was this album taken off Spotify? I have it on my external hard-drive but it's just easier to listen to all my music on there. I just noticed it wasn't there anymore.

Because most people in the world are brainwashed easily by "singers" as beiber and beyonce :) commercialism . People do not care so much about feelings and expressing them and being in touch with this side of a human being . I just love that Iamx is appreciated at any level . Show's that there are still people in the world that can think for themselves and that do not make part of a sheep-herd. ( sorry for bad grammar )
