First of all - I'm not proud of this, and I am generally loathe of this sort of thing; however, I feel it needs to be said. This is awful.I understand that Edwin left cuz he's a giant pussy and he wanted to be a pop star and do Pepsi commercials and suck George Michael's cock or some such, but these guys could've gotten somebody who has a better range than "whisper" & "screech"Christ, I lived in Ontario less than a year and met nine guys with better voices than this putz .Give Judd Ballandies a call - he'll Mike Patton all over your asses ;-)"Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation is almost always somebody screwed up."

I think what kind of ruined TQMD for me at least, was the lack of the extra percussion. I mean it's there, but it's all industrial-sounding. I miss the conga drums. I thought that, along with the progressive-yet-catchy style, was the coolest thing about the band. I didn't care for Jane's Addiction when they were big, but I always thought the secondary percussion was so cool. IME's early style was right up my alley so I really enjoyed their first 3 albums.

Because a lot of people that claim to like this band really just have a crush on Edwin. BGO was my reintroduction to IME (a band I listened to in my childhood), I just randomly bought the album at HMV around 2007 and I was blown away by how good it was. Now I am a massive fan of this band. TQMD is amazing btw, it's just not for everyone. But it is honestly like a masterpiece, some of the most amazing music on that album. I can't really recommend any songs off that album, but Meat Dreams is great

I heard nothing but negative things about BGO (more than likely in comparison to Dig and Scenery and Fish) and great things about their last album so I got Quicksilver Meat Dream and thought it was terrible. Just got this one a the other day and it's awesome! It's a whole hell of a lot closer to their old sound than the 4th album. I thought they just went kind of nu-metal on the last album. Why did this one get such bad reviews?
