♪♫ The days that you're gone, I can't stand the silence,

The hours that you're here, I can't stand your presence,

The starlight that shone from your eyes in the beginning,

Now blinds me with hate for you and all women,

The ties that should bind I want to cut into pieces,

The paper I signed collects dirt in it's creases,

But while you're away I can't stand the longing,

I detest being tied down but I love the belonging.

It's strange how this change in our relations brings you nearer,

It's wierd how I fear for our position is much clearer,

I understand that it's underhanded to want to desert you,

But every time you're here then I'm filled with a need to hurt you,

It's only one thing that stops me from commiting murder,

And that's the thought of losing you and I can't go no further,

('Cos ) I love you, miss ogyny (X4) ♪♫

There will never ever be a time of such great music memories as the 60's and 70's gave us........

yeah, I also was hugely influenced by his pick and finger (or fingers only?) phrasing on this and on "Garden"

that was my introduction, through my brother, this being the first album of theirs I heard. still kicks my ass, the arrangements and performances are so intense.

If they'd had this mega production on their 74 album Solid, it would have been a far more successful LP, IMHO.

Tellin' it like it is... has become highly unfashionable and unmentionable.#We are living in a psychological police state.

the intro was HUGELY influential on me, still pulling out stolen McPhee licks 40 years on when I jam

Lyrics on this one are a masterpiece alone. Tony's delivery is downright amazing!! I understand that it's underhand, if you want my possessions, is pure genius.

This was the first record I ever bought, I got off my music teacher who didn't like it ... he was always a fool. I still regularly pull it and play it today ... nearly 38 years later !

to BillMinworth ~ Hi, that may have been "The Tony McPhee Band" you saw and the bass player you mentioned could've been Alan Fish, with possibly Mick Kirton on drums ☺ ;-j
