Who sings it better, I guess that's what it's all about.. I love how people turn art into a competition.

In my opinion, Vale has the best version of this song. Plus, Frank's Italian isnt as good as Jerry Vale. Martino is good too but I think Jerry tops him. Goes to show how under rated Jerry Vale is.

You can't compare Frank Al Martino. Frank towers above him in phrasing, expression, sensitivity. Most Italian singers just rely on their voice to carry the song. Pop songs require EXPRESSION, and no one Frank's time had THAT. Not Al Martino, not Vic Damone, not Jerry Vale, not Don Cornell, not Jimmy Roselli, not even Dino. Listen to the way Frank phrases a song...it's like he's talking just to you and no one else. That is why he will live on as the greatest pop singer of the 20th century!

@THEFOOTBALLFAN I like Jerry Vale's version the best of all. Might as well throw one more singer into the mix.

Dean Martin had the BEST version of this song, even though Al Martino had the most famous version. I'm a big Al Martino fan, but nobody beats Dino!

Frank is singing the original Neopolitan chorus of the song: Vicin'ô mare, facimmo 'ammore, a core a core, pe' nce spassá... Só marenaro e tiro 'a rezza: ma, pallerezza, stóngo a murí.
