Hayley Westenra singing I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Misérables, followed by an interview on stage with the concert host. This is the song made even more famous than it already was, by Susan Boyle a few years ago.

This is upscaled from 576p to to 720p better to preserve the audio quality on Youtube.

Hayley sung this at the Belfast Proms in the Park, Titanic Slipways, on the last night of the Proms, in front of a capacity crowd of 7,000. BBC Northern Ireland said 55,000 tickets were applied for.

You can discuss this in the HWI forum at http://hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Concert&action=display&thread=6428 or visit the HWI website http://www.hayley-westenra-international.com/

well... she is sometimes compared to lisa kelly who was also in celtic womanboth singers sang same great songs solo such as 'water is wide' , 'may it be' and .i dreamed a dream'... in my opinion , lisa kelly's versions are better than hayleys'. but hayleys' voice was really shining than anybodywhen she sang solo and duet in celtic woman album"new journey" .. hayley has beautiful high voice but she seems to be getting more vibration in high sound range as she gets older ,which i think is sometimes becoming obstacle to express the real emotions of songs... even in this song , she had unneccessary vibe... just my opinion.. anyway, shes great singer of course

Hayley you have a wonderful gift for singing. Alas this song does not give you the credit you deserve.

I'm amazed that in ALL her renditions of this song, her handlers NEVER informed her about her wrong sweet attack to this TRAGIC musical piece.

Sadly, she sang this so much better when she was 15. For some reason not nearly as good

She has an amazing voice I cannot deny that, however it seems off here and not suited to the song.

Phrasing is completely unmusical, and in no way matches the wrenching feeling of the lyrics. Way too much fast vibrato and bright tone. Can't even hit the low notes. But..the orchestra is even worse; so dull. Clearly the blame is with the event's producers; did they even have a rehearsal? And poor Haley didn't even know she was to have an on stage interview!

I really enjoy listening to Hayley. But this is a song she should avoid. The credibility to sing Eponine requires acting out a very sad part through the voice. It's not a happy part or a happy song in any way. Eponine is a woman much abused by life, something that just does not come through with sweet Hayley. L'Mis performances by Ruthie Henshall and (later) Lea Solonga stand up better to this sad role and the song.

How refreshing to see and hear a talented, beautiful woman sing with a well trained voice, without all the screaming and volume so prevalent in today's music scene.

Hate to say it but a bit too much vibrato.
