Just as the lightning comes out of the East,

And branches even to the West;

So shall the coming of the Son of Man be.

So put on your Sunday best,

Put on your Sunday best.

I can't wait to see Jesus;

In His glory as He bursts from the sky.

I can't wait to be held in His arms;

And see the glimmer in His eyes.

Chorus:

Tell me, how it's gonna be;

Read it from the Bible again.

I can't wait to see Jesus;

Cause Jesus is coming again.

I can't wait to hear trumpets;

Cause I know what they mean when they sound.

I can't wait to cast off my burden;

And feel my feet leave the ground.

Chorus

I can't wait to see Heaven;

And to walk those streets of gold.

I can't wait to check into my mansion;

And get my sleeping bag and roll.

Chorus

I still have this double LP on vinyl and it's still a favorite with lots of great songs of the time.

I learned this at Lake Beauty Bible Camp in the 80's and still sing it fairly often. Am going to introduce my church to it as a praise song this week.

Even better to find that a lot of the singers/groups gave concerts! Never got to see PTG in concert. wish I had. Did get to see 2nd Chapter of Acts, Reba Rambo, Tim Sheppard, Dallas Holm, Lamb, Pam Mark Hall, Amy Grant, and, at our church, Keith Green

In the early 70's, when I became a Christian, God introduced me to Contemporary Christian music. I can still remember the very first songs I ever heard: EASTER SONG, WHICH WAY THE WIND BLOWS, THE LAST DAY OF MY LIFE, WHAT A DAY, LOVE BROKE THRU, TIME, HE GIVES ME JOY, ALL DAY DINNER, I WISH WE'D ALL BEEN READY, AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE JESUS. We think He expects us to sacrifice what we have loved, and He knew I had a serious fetish for music. He simply replaced what drew me with something SO MUCH BETTER

Oh I would give so much to have that record! I recognize most of the groups, not all. Don't have anything to play records on, but someday,maybe! I first saw Pat Terry in 1974 at Bryan College in Dayton, TN. He came every year I was there. I have since seen him in concert in various places. I am thrilled to see more of his music being posted on YouTube!

This song takes me back about 40 years when we were kids going to Church devotionals while we were in College. Great song!
