well said. metal bands think they're superior because they can shred but it's really not hard at all to just sit down, write a bunch of riffs that sound difficult and then mash them all together into a "song". the parts rarely flow into each other and it lacks a lot of the qualities that make music, music. now just wait for my band to put out our EP, we combine shredding and real structure in the vien of pop punk/hardcore! keep your eyes peeled

On the topic of pop punk being "stale" or "too simple"... it takes so much songwriting skill to write a "simple" song like this. Writing catchy, simple songs is a lot harder than just shredding and throwing a bunch of shit together. This takes talent.
