Have I been dreaming? Sky is the wrong color. Its hot. Cloud cover is dense. Red. Brown. Am I floating? Coming down? The Dark Star. Was I there? Where was 'there' anyway? Tried every broadcast frequency. Got nothing. Just static on the line. Looking for signs of life but I dont see any.

Back to the ground. Looking up at the thick sky. I see the Dark Star. Its above me, inside me. Behind my eyes. I hear the cries. But I cant seem to see where they come from.

Cant move. Cant feel anything. Are those clouds? Plumes of smoke? I smell it. The air. Smells like death. Smells like decay. Ground is wet. Muddy. Warm. But, wet from what? Water, oil, blood?

Still nothing but static. Even the signal grows weaker. High frequency. Low frequency. Its all just snow. Is anybody left out there? Am I the only one? Why was I spared? I only wanted to know what it meant. I only wanted to see for myself so that I could warn them with proof.

Its in the sky. Its in my head. My eyes. I see it. Its all I see. Im blind to the world and the Dark Star fills all my vision. Noise is louder. Smell is stronger. But everything grows darker. Lay a while longer here.
