The guitar solo section sounds like a direct quote from a BRAHMS symphony... (don't ask me which one)

Another example of the atrocious miking/mixing Husker Du suffered. Their vocals are almost always muddy, buried and nearly unintelligible. They would have had greater success if the public could hear them sing!

I can hear where Pixies probably got the inspiration for "Wave of Mutilation."

one of the most beautiful rock songs ever...love Bob Mould but Grant Hart songs ( Books about UFO/Terms of Psychic Warfare/Pink turns to Blue/Diane/She's A Woman now she is a man/Flexible Flyer/Don't Wanna know if you are lonely/ etc) were always my favourite..particularly the other-worldly beauty of Green Eyes

Indeed. Jon Auer does a lovely acoustic interpretation of this one that is just romantic as hell, and it doesn't matter who he's singing it to. This is an incredible song. Period.

It's a beautiful song, but could they have buried the drums ANY farther in the mix??

Sounds like something from bossanova or trompe le monde if you ask me.

No it doesn't! You really think so? Why?

It's about Grant's boyfriend at the time. I won't name him, but he was in another Minneapolis band. GREAT song.
