Apparently he (Matt) has small vocal chords. Remember Ted Neeley as Jesus? Wow. I think there is a relaxed, stress free vocal - it's just a microphone is needed if you want it to be heard. I love this quote - I think it was from 'Spanglish' - not sure. The old Broadway woman said ["what ever you're singing about... you can never feel sad when you're singing"] or something. Even work / slave songs made people happier while they were singing. Even a mourning song or funeral hymn can be sung with no stress because there needn't be any passion there - Just emotion. And emotion can be very 'dull' until we add stress to it.

Woah woah woah. You're missing the single most important element in Bellamy's style - his breathing! You can always hear his breaths, his slurps, and his gulps in their songs. Once you hear it, you cannot unhear it.

Hi Ken. Great work! Matt has quite a small mouth so I'm guessing the sound is also a bit more bilabially placed. He speaks very well in English RP and I can really hear this come out in certain songs. His last bars in Madness (need your love...) sound well supported too and indicate some classical training in the mix, to help the big ending. I like what you did with it more in the head. George Michael though? Nah.. :D

I see that you can sing Matt's easiest songs.... But can you sing Micro Cuts?I issue a challenge to you, good sir. Attempt to sing Micro Cuts by Muse. If you can pull it off, send me a shipping address, and I will send you a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies. Are you up to the challenge?

I really want to able to sing very high pitched and powerful in falsetto, but I am having a trouble getting there.. When I was younger I could easily do it, but from one day to another, my voice was very limited in my falsetto, and has been since...Are there a reason for that, and are there any tips/tricks to practice my falsetto right?

Is There Really Such Thing As "Stress Free Singing"?I see many vocal coaches (and their students) promoting the idea that "there should be no stress while singing" and therefore frustrating the heck out of singers who think there is "something wrong with themselves" because they can't, over night, achieved this "stress free" singing.(this also gives a vocal coach "tribal knowledge" to keep you coming back to them as the only one who has the answer to this elusive concept)This is nonsense and here's why:Singing is like a sport. And with any sport, it's not the absence of stress, it's the management of stress that makes a great athlete. Think of it like this:When Lionel Messi is going to goal, do you think his body is "stressed?"(Anyone who says it isn't has never played a sport before). But Lionel has learned the art of training his body and mind for that moment when it's time for him to step on the gas, take on 3 players and score what "looks" like an "effortless goal."But you can be assured, it was not done "without effort" or without "stress."Lionel achieved this through training his technical abilities as well as building stamina and muscle memory to achieve this consistency. Now it is true that some styles of singing require less stamina than others and therefore can be accomplished with less strength training. In other words, singing a light pop song requires very little "strength" in the sound whereas singing a heavy rock song often requires incredible strength and stamina. This is also true for those (like myself) that want to push their "limits" and abilities to be all they can be. This of course requires more "effort" and technical training. With that said, there are many stages to building this "stamina" and it's ok to "find yourself" as one first starts with "damaging street singing" (with total stress) and going through the different stages of learning how to manage this stress away form the voice through correct training. If I didn't show the different stages of this process, and only showed "perfection", people would never learn that these people are all human, having to work on their craft just like yourself.
