Pavement's performance gets a poor reception — a shower of mud and rocks — on the Charles Town, West Virginia stop of the 1995 Lollapalooza tour. Pavement's Bob Nastanovich and Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg, and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, theorize how the performance may have contributed to the eventual demise of the festival. I saw the same Lollapalooza tour in NYC. They were amazing Wowee- Zowee style. They along with most of the other bands were much appreciated here.

Pavement was all the rage with the hip street kids back in 95. I know, I was one of them. Wowee Zowee was the shit back then

pavement didnt "do in" lollapalooza. 95 was still a great year but i remember pavement being the least memorable of the day, snoozy as fuck. so maybe it was just them where lolla fucked up was bringing in metallica in 96 and then in 97 having electronic acts headline. people just weren't ready for that. also nu metal was just taking off :puke: so changing musical tastes had a bit to do with it as well

this is what it could be like to be a hipster (and genius band) ahead of your time -- i saw this tour in Cincy -- in retrospect Pavement is the best band on the bill

I cringe everytime I watch this, but I love their reactions. SM being a hotass, Spiral being a bratty little punk.

It's gotta be. I don't think there is anyone on this planet who could be mistaken for David Yow.

it is so funny how much i love that song zurich is stained and that was part of an antagonistic buildup. as more of a crooked rain fan it's funny to be like...sorry for the melodically beautifully "lo-fi" style played over sly lyrics. but this is us and you can't judge everything on it's own merits but. really, let's be honest, it really just comes down to people being hot and aggravated with a woodstock green day means to protest if for no reason than to protest too much. idk i type.

Typical behavior of the close-minded and intolerant "corporate rock" crowd. Bastards.

Fuck those guys even more for pelting Stephen with a rock during the intro of In the Mouth of a Desert. I love that song.
