In 1938 John Ford came to film Stagecoach in Sedona because of the red sandstone that became very prevalent in his early westerns, after that many films were filmed in Sedona, hence the name "little Hollywood", Operation Mockingbird took place in the early 50's, long after Stagecoach was filmed and as far as Paperclip goes, that did happen. Wow. Heard this on Lightning 100 in Nashville, and I was pumped, cranked it up, but then -- UGH I can't even express how angry this hook (or lack thereof) at the end of the chorus makes me. they had an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE song that could have been a HUGE HIT and a CLASSIC FOR YEARS and it sings SO WELL all the way up to "...Saturday night kinda pink...." What?!?!?!? Literally ANYTHING ELSE could have been sung there and it would have been a PERFECT SONG. I'm actually pissed. Still love the song, but I'm mad about that line.8 years ago

Amazing song. Love the video too. "Saturday night kind of pink." Hits me every time. Makes me want to hit the road or something. Drove up to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix through Sedona once on a business trip. Loved the place. A car flipped over behind me on the desert road. Sad, but I had to press on to make the canyon just on time before sunset. Beautiful trip.8 years ago
