Hot Burrito #1 - Written by Gram Parsons and Chris Ethridge.

--- Lyrics---

You may be sweet and nice

But that won't keep you warm at night

Cause I'm the one who showed you how

to do the things you're doing now

He may feel all your charms

He may hold you in his arms

But I'm the one who let you in

I was right beside you then

Once upon a time you let me feel you deep inside

And nobody knew and nobody saw

Do you remember the way you cried

I'm your toy I'm your old boy

But I don't want no-one but you

To love me no I wouldn't lie

You know I'm that kind of guy

Once upon a time you let me feel you deep inside

And nobody knew and nobody saw

Do you remember the way you cried

I'm your toy I'm your old boy

But I don't want no-one but you

To love me no I wouldn't lie

You know I'm that kind of guy

Graham recorded all the songs & then the label took him out and substituted this guy. There's no comparison- Graham's voice is so tender and truly conversational.

Thanks for the chords! One thing, tho...on Gram's version the 2nd chord IS an Fmaj7, because Chris E is playing an F note

Damn, this sounds better than the original. I like the F Burritos, but usually this is not my favorite. Very nice blusey version.

ooops: G7, C not Am

Sorry to go on, but the transition to the bridge is also wrong in this version. In G it should be, G, G#5, G6, G7, Am, etc

In the original Key of F, you can really hear why the 6 chord (E in this version) is incorrect. In F it would be D instead of the correct F#dim and the D plainly doesn't work

I used to play this with Jon Corneal way back in the day. He and Gram did the song in F. The intro was Dm, Dmsharp7, Dm7, G. The intro on this version in G is quite different: G, Gmaj7, G7, E, Am, D, Am, D. If you listen carefully to Gram's version, After the G in the intro it goes to an F(the one) chord and then to an Am, not an Fmaj7. Also the verse should go to the 1#dim (G#dim on this version) instead of the 6 chord( E). The verse on the original goes, F, Am, F7, F#dim, Gm, C, Bb, C.

G Gmaj7 G7 E Am7 D Am7 D. I tried to post a rough tab but it didn't work. The trick is to finger it so that you play a d on the b-string and a b on the g-string for both the second and 3rd chords.

@hangingrock57 I'm thinking mr. page totally "borrowed" part of the intro for this song for the rain song. Haha. Maybe as a tribute to Gram or something. Who knows? Definitely the same chords though.

THis is confusing to watch w/ the gram picks and gene singing. But I guess because it's more of a tribute performance that's appropriate. I enjoyed it.

It's not Gram singing! It's Gene...Doesn't sound sweet enough to be Gram. Gene joined after Gram had long gone. Well that's how it sounds to me anyhow. I'm sure the info's out there, although Gram did write it of course...A

@mandaltby Gram's greatest accomplishment was dying before everyone realized how average he was.
