The HORDE solo release "HELLIG USVART" (Holy Unblack in Norwegian) was one of the most controversial albums of the decade, leading to death threats directed at the owner of Nuclear Blast Records, who promoted the release. This solo project was the brilliant work of Jayson Sherlock, former drummer for Death Metal band MORTIFICATION and Doom Metal band PARAMAECIUM and current drummer for Thrash Metal band DELIVERANCE. This Christ centered masterpiece, shook the foundations of what Christian metal was, and redefined Christian metal as we know it today.

Guest lead vocalist at Nordic Fest was none other than PILGRIM BESTIARIUS.

I never really understood any of this "black metal" anyway. I get that Jayson was pretty much satirizing the genre anyway. I think y'all'er nuts to begin with! As a Christian who likes heavy metal, I just can't get into this screaming stuff. The old Mortification, where I first heard of Jayson, was alright for a while... at least I could understand Steve Rowe's vocals. THIS... this is just noise, just like all of the unholy black demon black Swedish death metal nonsense. As far as the haters who want them to die... well, I guess that would be a big "Mission Accomplished" banner for Jayson. Good job at fulfilling his goal!

Christian metal is by far the most humiliating genre of music to exist. You "unblack" cunts will never be as successful as Marduk, Dark Funeral, Darkthrone, or Mayhem. I get that all the time as well, especially with bands like Sorrowstorm that perform with corpse paint on (had a huge discussion on that on a different video). I just ask them, "what does God's music sound like?" And remind them that God reads the motives of our heart. I can be perceived by others as all "religious," but God sees right through all that fake stuff. If I headband with a joyful heart praising God, then it IS God's music. It has WAY more to do with your heart than the music style.

I imagine you're asking about them as a band, not their music. It's been said that Hellhammer doesn't care who he plays for, Christian or not, and he took some flack from Mayhem for playing on Antestor's two releases, of which he could care less. As for Antestor, they make no excuses that they are a Christian band. I see it this way, I'm a Christian and have lots of non-Christian friends. They all know I'm a Christian. I feel honored that I have the opportunity to be Christ's witness to them.

Good list! A lot of awesome bands there. I have to say that I mistrust Antestor because they had the drummer from Mayhem, Hellhammer, play drums on a couple of records. What do you think about Antestor?

Well let's see...screamo Unblack with Metalcore influence (no clean vocals I take it). Check these out. Impending Doom (one of my favorite) is fast, violent and definitely screamo and may dip into the Unblack Metal style a bit. The Devil Wears Prada may have a little to, but they have some clean vocals. Oh, I know...you'll love FROST LIKE ASHES!

because I've become more interested in Christianity and didn't want to listen to possibly satanic bands. If it helps, the songs I liked by them were "Sons of Northern Darkness" (Immortal) and "I Am The Black Wizards" (Emperor). Any recommendations you could give me of unblack stuff that sounds like either of those songs or else like the three unblack bands I mentioned earlier would be much appreciated. Thank you for uploading all this great Christian metal. It's much appreciated.
