You know, on one hand I agree with you; Black Metal is supposed to be evil, dark and atmospheric. That's the whole fuckin point of the genre, it's what makes it badass! On the other hand however, I love the concept of Unblack Metal because it's a big FU to the norm of metal. The whole "Satan evil religion is bullshit" thing is so old now and widely accepted, that if u are religous than the whole metal community that were once your "metal brothers" will turn on you and denounce you for it!!!

Unblack metal defeats the 'purpose', if I may call it that way, of black metal. BM is about the individual more than the whole group. The 'true' black metal isn't about the band's music appealing to the masses, but to pleasure and calm/fuel the individual both from the lyrics and the music. Unblack metal totally discards this idea since it shows how christianity wants to dominate everything, turning each element of life that pleasures a person on a personal level to something of their own.
