People are so ignorant and naive about drugs, a majority of people that experiment with drugs rarely do so or are just casual users, and most likely very secretive about it. Only a small percentage actually develop addictions and a majority that do, typically come from a poor , problem riddled neighbourhood, where job opportunities are lacking, very little friend and family support, prone to mental illness, etc. However, for so many, one addicts sob-story, and they demonize drugs. (especially the gov't and their fear mongering bull shit seriously trust nothing you hear from an authority or news outlet, do research, get experience, form an opinion with your own damn thoughts and not regurgitate some bullshit) I understand that a close family member or friend that succumbs to addiction can be enough to make you hate any and all drugs, but look at it this way if these drugs were made and distributed in a professional matter (no cut-up garbage that no-ones sure of what its truly made of being sold by shady dealers, right there immediately deaths and ODs cut down significantly due to shit product) and closely regulated, all the taxpayers money wasted and lives wasted imprisoning addicts, casual users, one time users , young impressionable high risk youth lured into the game of dealing, instead is used to help spread TRUTHFUL facts around drug use without the fear mongering, Use that money for compassionate addiction/mental health treatment facilities where someone can actually get treatmeant and not trade out peoples addictions for govt approved drugs/addictions and send them on their way (yes this is what really happens methadone, antidepressents, anti-pyschotics, sleeping pills, and so on, many much worse and damaging for you then most illicit drugs) ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE THIS DRUG WAR AND FEAR-MONGERING NON-SENSE HAS GONE ON FOR DECADES AND DRUG ABUSE HAS CONTINUED TO RISE NON-STOP. WE MUST LEGALIZE, TIGHTLY REGULATE, AND OFFER COMPASSION INSTEAD OF PRISON TO THOSE WHO FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS OF ADDICTION, PUT AN END TO THE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY ON OUR STREETS, AND THE MURDEROUS DRUG CARTEL IN MEXICO AND COLOMBIA.
