This song is so sad, I don't see why anyone would want to dedicate this song to someone or think it awakens the best imaginations. It's about two people together for six years who finally realize and accept that they can only be best friends. I guess I'm glad that most people don't see it that way. I know all too well what it feels like to be in this kind of relationship. Everything seems like it should, you love them and they love you, but it never seems like you can satisfy them completely and vise versa. You wonder if anyone's at fault or if you are being too picky. You think that you will never find someone else you can connect to as much as you can connect to this person, your best friend, because you haven't yet. The part where she almost falls on the nails is perfect to describe what it feels like to know that this decision isn't based on the heart but on the mind.
