Conocido principalmente como la voz solista del grupo *Frankie Goes To Hollywood* entre los años 1980 y 1987, durante los cuales obtuvieron numerosos éxitos en el Reino Unido y el resto de Europa, especialmente en Alemania.Antes de eso, *Johnson* fue bajista en el grupo punk rock británico *Big in Japan* , con los que publicó dos singles. En 1980 formó con *Paul Rutherford (voces, teclado), Peter Gill (voces, batería), Marl O'Toole (bajo) y Brian Nash (guitarra)* el grupo de dance-pop de Liverpool, *Frankie Goes to Hollywood (FGTH)*. Su single debut, *'Relax'*, fue prohibido por la BBC cuando se encontraba en el puesto 6 de las listas, a causa de las imágenes y mensajes de la portada, que a los de la BBC les parecían de mal gusto. Lógicamente esto hizo que alcanzara inmediatamente el nº1, permaneciendo en él cinco semanas seguidas.Siguieron publicando éxitos como *'Two tribes', 'The power of love' (1984), 'Welcome to the Pleasuredome' (1985) y 'Rage hard' (1986)*. En 1987, insatisfecho con la dirección musical del grupo, abandona la formación y dos años después publica su primer álbum en solitario, *'Blast'*, que con temas como *'Love train', 'Americanos' y 'Atomic city'* alcanza el nº1 de las listas británicas.Ese mismo año participó con *The Christians, Paul McCartney, Stock Aitken Watermen y Gerry Marsden* en el single benéfico *'Ferry cross the Mersey'*, en ayuda a los afectados de la catástrofe ocurrida durante un partido de fútbol en Liverpool, en la que murieron 96 personas debido a una avalancha humana. Okay, granted holly's voice is still good... but come on, this is basically a backing track accompanying him and not just the actual band at the Rewind Festival. Poor show. I prefered seeing Ryan singing this live when Frankie got back together between 2004 - 2007.

Yeah! Holly fuckin' nailed it. He still got it (and plenty of ego). But I agree with the others on here. Give it a shot with the original FGTH members. If there is a hatchet, it must be a fuckin' whopper. Just bury it and RELAX. You always told us to Holly.
