Skylark / Hoagy Carmichael.青木啓曰く「彼の曲にはノスタルジックなムード、快いセンチメンタルがあり、どこか南部の情緒を思わせる。」Thanks For Upload.

Art Pepper is wonderful on this

Art Pepper on alto, Jimmy Rowles on piano......and Hoagy hisself, the loosest, most relaxed singer who ever lived.(The tune itself is a compositional masterpiece.)

I love this song what a classic. I did a cover of this great song, check it out when you get the chance (if you feel like it LOL)

And I think Hoagy did not write a verse for it.

I never knew: Glenn Miller first recorded it in 1942. It rose to #7 on the charts!

It's very important that you posted this. The composer sings. I'm doing a chart of "Skylark." Though I've known the tune all my life, I wanted to see if he ever recorded it. Sounds like Art Pepper on alto. Thanks!

Aretha did the definitive version of the song, so she obviously loved it!

Yes. According to the liner notes the "Pacific Jazzmen" were: Art Pepper, Harry Edison, Don Fagerquist, Harry Klee, Jimmy Rowles

Love the songs of Hoagy Carmichael, especially the ones he wrote with Johnny Mercer.
