oh for the last time =,= people who keep complaining about a chapter using another chapters lost or old war gear have never read the damned lore. It's common practice for the space marines to use any and all war gear available be it from another chapter or not, the blood ravens for instance scavenged gear then repainted it because that's what you need to do in 40k, space marine gear is damn expensive and made to outlast the marine inside it, hell many suits have seen a dozen space marines and more then one chapter. If we took the time to ship every power suit we find to its respective faction (which is probably on the other side of the galaxy by now) we'd lose the war!

It would ( if the defences had been up ) probably not have been such a slaughter but the Space Wolves would probably still have won. They knew how to fight Space Marines ( Scourging of the Lost Legion(s) ) and are overall a very powerful legion, also very resourceful and unforgiving if you underestimate them. As a fact, Leman Russ, not the most powerful primarch ( Physically speaking ) still beated the sh*t out of Magnus, even when psychically empowered.

You might be confusing Luna Wolves with Space Wolves. Luna Wolves didn't exist when Prospero burnt, they were the Sons of Horus when Prospero burnt. Space Wolves went to Prospero and burned the planet. If Magnus actually defended and told his Legion about the Space Wolves I think the Space Wolves would have lost. As great as the Space Wolves are in a fight it would counted for nothing if they couldn't have broken through the Thousand Sons' defences which weren't up because they had no idea.
