It was a dark time, but this song was an inspiration.

Incredible. A great composer, a great lyricist and a great singer. It's called talent. And luck.

Thanks for posting this great sung. Suddenly it's 1965 and I'm watching "What's New, Pussycat?" at the Colony Theater in SW Chicago.

I remember "what's new pussycat " well, BUT I had forgotten this great song. I love the piano parts in it as well as the Lyrics. It's a great slow dance tune when you're dressed up in a cocktail dress, BUT I hate heels. I was 5 ft 9 until recently and I still remember back in the 90's going to the TN. Theater, seeing plays and dancing afterwards. It was at home, my date and I still dressed up but no heels. a very romantic song.....Memories. I usually keep my playlist private but I'm making one of my favorite Dionne songs. I think I'll make that public, since the ones I love are not Message to Michael and all that. You shall see when I'm done. Bye friends

Dear sylvette, thank you for taking the time to reply. It felt good to make a connection with someone, even if it's a small connection.

One of those rare songs that makes you happy. Even if you're having a lousy day. Or a lousy life.

I have the same picture of the girl and guy in the rain(2:05 in your video) in my music video, "The last time I saw her face"

I remember this song being on the music charts in the New York city area from the summer of 1965 till December. It is one of my all-time favorite songs.

Smooth memories from 1965, Bremerhaven, Germany and What's New Pussy Cat? Thanks for the post. It is true - if you can think of it - it will be on the Internet somewhere.

Ty for post! The most heartfelt, imho, of David's lyrics with an extraordinary melody by the Bacharach!
