With or without the music, it's still a great album to look at... and that is why Herb Alpert's 1965 "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" is my WEEK 23 PICK for my NEW YEARS' RESOLUTION to LISTEN to ONE GREAT ALBUM (and this one's a good one... again, just look at the cover!) EACH WEEK for the WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR.

This song is amazing! Herb Albert touches a nerve with this song. It is melancholy but at the same time soothing and beautiful. Thank you God for music like this:)

i have been searching for this tune for 50 years. never knew the name. heard it on a radio station when i was stationed at camp lejeune, n.c. haven't heard it since 1966. don't know why easy listening stations don't play it. it is one of alpert's best as far as i'm concerned.

Try listening to this song with your eyes closed. Then, picture a beautiful woman in a satin ankle length nightgown dancing in front of you. I think this is like a honeymoon dance.

Could this be the one you are looking for? Jet Harris & Tony Meehan - (Doing The) Hully Gully - 1963 45rpm .

This is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded by the Brass! The entire album is great. One of the best groups in concert, and sorely missed.

I couldn't agree more. It can be hard to find a record you enjoy playing all the way through. This is one of those records for me.

The falling harmonies of this song do their best to be gentle and consoling even as they unremittingly remind the listener that he is mortal.

All right, so as a kid, I didn't know that ladyfingers were a type of cookie and assumed the song was about a man on a date with a woman and being entranced by her long, elegant, beautiful fingers. I still see this music video in my head where the camera slowly pans across these gorgeous hands...

My dad worked two jobs almost all his life to support his family. After church on Sundays, he would lay on the living room sofa and listen to the stereo playing Herb Alpert and Al Hirt music really loud. No one bothered him, because he worked so hard and deserved to spend his personal time the way he chose to do. That was the only thing he did all week that was purely for his leisure --- two hours on Sunday mornings. What a wonderful man. Every time I hear these songs I think of him.
