Helmet - In the Meantime (Intrumental) video free download
From "The Instrumental Music of Helmet 1992-1997"
This track is interesting to me in particular because of the alternate takes. Mainly just a few differences on the lead guitars and some alternate drum fills by Stanier in a few places.
Also about 25 seconds on...the drums, namely the snare, sounds more "natural" to me. My guess has been that it's (mostly) a quick Albini mix before Santa Claus aka Andy Wallace got his sample triggering paws on it. If somebody else hears this, lemme know. (I say mostly cause the intro up to about 25 seconds sounds normal.)

this is from the 45rpm 7inch single of meantime with the no nicky no track from born annoying on side B. just copped one on ebay along with the turned out/rock messiah demo 7inch produced by steve albini. the 45rpm 7inch of unsung is also an alternate version produced by wharton tiers.12 years ago

@jarek1283 Ah ha. OK. Makes sense. I just always assumed it was a different Albini take past the intro. Didn't really occur to me that they could have recorded a version with Wharton. But now that you mention it...if you were to listen to this then the next song on the record, Ironhead...it's pretty obvious. More so on "The Instrumental Music of Helmet" promo, especially in the parts where Page would be singing....where the drums are unaltered. It's harder to hear on the Meantime album,14 years ago
