On one side I can relate with the song. Who doesn't want to do better for their kids, then their parents did for them? While at the same time, my dad wasn't a bad man. He beat my ass several times, but I ALWAYS deserved what I got and I could always see the pain in his eyes when he had too.

Tyler Asher.......I'm so sorry. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. I really hope he's locked up, where he belongs. Good luck to you and your Mom. <3

UI very much love this song. I cry to it if I listen to it if I'm going to sleep because about 1-2 years ago my dad used to beat my mother and shoot at her either with his 22 or 30-6 and when he wasn't shooting at her he would kill our dogs because he's addicted to meth and marijuana . all I got to say is this this song has a meaning to me

So maybe your Pop, did wrong. What did you do for him besides tell him to GTFO of your life? So many kids blame their parents and NEVER once themselves try to fix things by being kind.....just once. This songs reeks of blame and no effort in return. Did you try? Even once? If not shame on you.

This song gets me all the time I was born with a father that he wasn't good enough for me and my mother he used to beat my mother up while I was seeing all this as a kid now that I'm old enough I still live through it he wants to meet me again but he is the enemy who ruined my childhood this song is the song I'm still hearing it from the day I was 16

I know my enemy and I can't forget his name,Distant memories of a man that just couldn't change,And though I've tried to set aside,I still carry them todayWhen I look into the mirror I can still see his face,Oh lordDon't want to be like my father,I deserved a better man,A bigger man to help me down my roadI cried a tear for my mother,She deserved a better man,A stronger man,To embrace her soulRuined by a weaker man,A shallow man,The one who broke our homeThough I was a young boy I can still remember everything,All the booze led to fights and abuseAnd I lived through it every dayAnd though I try,To heal inside,My heart is just a vault for pain,I tried to snuff the candle,But I've been burnt by the flame,It's too lateDon't want to be like my father,I deserved a better man,A bigger man to help me down my roadI cried a tear for of my mother,She deserved a better man,A stronger man,To embrace her soulRuined by a weaker man,A shallow man,The one who broke our homeSaw him twenty years later in a store buyin' a jug of wineHe said "hey there boy I'm living nearbyWe could catch up with a joint and share a bottle or two"I said "I'm sorry dad, don't wanna end up being you...no"Don't want to be like my father,I cried a tear for my mother,She deserved a better man,A stronger man,To embrace her soulRuined by a weaker man,A shallow man,The one who broke our home

My son and I saw Mudvayne in Tulsa many years ago. I agree this pain needs heard and it honestly does hurt hearing this kind of pain from a grown man. Just so you know, not all dads and fathers are the kind that you were raised by. We still like your music.

Was Snape in a rock band prior to joining Hogwarts, or was this during his emo days as a professor?

It's stunning to me to see where they came from. From this, which I think is pretty good lyrically but less so musically, to the Blood For Blood record. They had said that they found their sound, and I agree. The sort of outlaw rock style has its appeal, and I appreciate it for what it is, but I think they're doing the Heavy Metal thing now and they're doing it better than most of the bands putting out new material. It's all stunning - the entire record. That's rare.Having said that, these lyrics mean a lot to me. It's my story, and the story of many others.
