Hell's Bells and One Of A Kind by Bill Bruford.

It comes directly from an LP source, so the sound is a little bit crappy and there are some clicks and bips.

Hell's Bells is written by Dave Stewart and Gowan; One Of A Kind is written by Bill Bruford.

From wikipedia.org:

One of a Kind is an album by the British band Bruford. It was released in 1979 and is a collection of progressive melodies with much jazz exploration, in style that can be defined within the limits of jazz fusion. The group led by drummer Bill Bruford features guitarist Allan Holdsworth, bassist Jeff Berlin and keyboardist Dave Stewart. Some of the material ("Forever Until Sunday", which features an uncredited Eddie Jobson on violin, and "The Sahara Of Snow") was originally performed live by U.K. on its 1978 tour. Stewart's "Hell's Bells" used a fragment penned by his former National Health colleague Alan Gowen (the 3-chord pattern underlying the guitar solo).

Personnel:

* Bill Bruford - Drums, Percussion

* Allan Holdsworth - Guitar

* Jeff Berlin - Bass, Vocals

* Dave Stewart - Keyboards, Synths

Appreciate you for putting this out regardless of the album buzz.  I have the album somewhere in the garage but great to hear it again...was one of my favorites along with Tony Williams Lifetime and other fusion like Return To Forever .

hey man whats up..to answer your question-this album was more on the jazzy side of fusion than(based on the rest of the albums 'arrangements' so to speak rock...but some albums are to close to tell- the movement was 'jazz rock fusion'--this was not necessary a 'landmark album for fusion,but def. a good album-a great album would be Tony Williams "Believe It" powerhouse album-leaning toward Rock-Jazz-as players were from jazz/ jazzier backgrounds- Holdsworth is on the album enjoy

Isn't this album on the rock side of fusion? I read somewhere that this was a landmark album for instrumental rock. If this is so, then why does this album get praised for being such a great "fusion" album? Considering it's rock/fusion.

@Jay435 True enough on the title track and much of the material in the "Bruford" band collection. Stewart (co)wrote a fair amount of the material, including Hell's Bells. With the level of talent in the band (any version of it*), it didn't matter to me who wrote it, just being able to listen to be performed (vinyl or live) was special. *that's right ANY version. Check out John Goodsall Project

@mensamoo Steve Howe knows how brilliant Holdsworth is...because he is not a fool such as yourself. Go learn something from him.
