Song from To The Teeth (1999). Feels eerily recent, with being about the killing of Dr Barnett Slepian who worked at an abortion clinic.

So Ani can sing, but what about her aborted baby?Don't babies have a right to sing someday too?

I know what you mean :=) I have like a dozen of favorite Ani-Songs....and I feel personally related to each one. But this one puts two important topics together, that might not have much in common at first glance:racism and abortion. Killing people due to blind fanaticism is uncondonable. That's what makes this song so emotional...

That's saying a lot. Every time I settle on my favorite song of hers, another comes along to take its place. She is certainly the best songwriter of our time. Simply amazing!

How many more brave doctors will we need to be remembered to this song? Something needs to be done about the crazed anti fanatics. I hate every single one of them.

Such a moving song. I had to come and listen to it after what happened in Arizona today.

Myself

I remember, the Monday after Dr. Tiller was assassinated, they used this song during an interlude on DemocracyNow!. I was listening to the podcast at the gym and had to step off the elliptical to regain my composure. a staff member approached to make sure i was okay, and we ended up getting into a really good conversation about late-term abortion and what Dr. Tiller did. it was awesome. THANK YOU ANI!!!

It's probably my favourite song from Ani.. amazing combination of simplicity and breathtaking deepness... And I'm not talking about the lyrics. Pure feeling.
