+Lemongravy1971 Bon Scott was influenced by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band from Scotland, the first band with this sound is also British, Humble Pie, all heavy metal hard rock singers owe Steve Marriot the singer from Humble Pie their careers, Steve set the template and everyone else followed.

This must have influenced AC/DC and Bon Scott. My first shock was that a British band preceded AC/DCs sound. My second shock was that the singer is "Wayne" from the superb Auf Wiedersehen Pet, probably the best TV series from my teenage years. It's a nice surprise.
