RIP Ray. A Country Music Legend has left us, but his music will live on. While living in the Dallas area many years ago, Ray use to perform at Panther Hall in Fort Worth, and Dewey Grooms Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas. I never missed any of his performances. He played and sang the type of music you could really dance to. I am listening to some of his recording on youtube. Our prayers are with your family and loved ones.

Can't say that Ray was my favorite but he was certainly one of the best and from a great time and place: the 60's, the Grand Ole Opry, etc. So sorry and he will be missed. Thanks for posting this!

I'm still hoping he'll have Ray on again as soon as Ray gets back up to speed and gains some weight back after his health issues.

Well at least Ray Price and Mart Stuart got their chance to preform this wonderful song.

You're right, people tend to just go on with their normal life yet still knowing their Legends are still out there making people happy with their music. Then all of a sudden they're gone and then people begin to think about how that Legend affected their lives, sometimes not even quite realizing it. I work hard at making sure my grand kids at least hear the Legends sing and hope they will not forget them as they grow old. I don't think country will ever truly be forgotten.

How could anyone not love Ray Price?!?! This guy is pretty much as good as it gets. I wish young people would pay more attention to the true originals like this before they are all gone. We lost the great George Jones this year. I have around 50 George Jones video's on my youtube page... before he passed away I may have had around a hundred thousand views since 2008- just weeks after his passing it jumped to well over a MILLION. People didn't pay attention until it was too late.

On November 6, 2012 Ray Price confirmed that he is fighting pancreatic cancer. Price told the San Antonio Express-News that he has been receiving chemotherapy for the past six months. - From Wikipedia. We wish him the best!!

It's one of these two Dale Morris Jr. or Derek Pell and I suspect it's the first one. On the search bar for You tube type in Fiddlin' around with Dale Morris Jr and Derek Pell and it will bring up a great video of the two fiddling in an impromptu session.

I'm not at home but instead in Santa Fe NM and still heading north tomorrow. If I get a chance later after I go find something to eat, I'll see if I can find the info. He's been with Ray many years, I know that.

I saw Ray for the first time almost exactly a year ago and was blown away. I'm watching his schedules to see if I can find him in AZ again, otherwise I guess I'm going to have to head to Texas again. You can't beat the Chief!!!

Eddie Stubbs, seen here announcing Ray, introduced Ray’s concert Aug 10 2012 at the Franklin, NC Center For The Performing Arts. He promised we would experience greatness. And the 800+ present were not disappointed. It was amazing. If you have only heard Ray recently on youtube, you will be surprised and delighted to hear his real untrimmed-down-to mp3-standards voice. More than one youtube fan thought at first that maybe lip-syncing was going on – but it was the real thing. Great. Memorable.
