'Mistral Wind'Recorded in mid-1978 for the 'Dog & Butterfly' album which was released onOctober 7, 1978.Ann Wilson with close friend and song collaborator Sue Ennis wrote the words to this haunting and dark song.Nancy Wilson was responsible for the opening and acoustic guitar sections.Lead Guitarist > Roger Fisher proved the electric hard-rock section.Another song produced by the very 'underrated' Mike FlickerAn eerie song, with obvious tastes of Led Zeppelin, from 'Physical Graffiti' and'Presence', as well as the bands > Yes and Renaissance.Heart-i-Fact > The band 'Stone Fury' sampled a few of these riffs for their '2' Albums,as well as their future band 'Kingdom Come'

Does anyone happen to know the "words of will" referred to in the lyrics? I'd love to be able to call up the wind like that.

Music isn't like this anymore at all. It really sucks, especially for me since I'm still "young."

This is both one of the strangest, and one of the most enchanting songs ever written. Beautiful.

No wind when I took the watchMy ship was still and waitin'I lay on that mirrored skyA restless sail or waitin'I closed my eyes said theWords of will for the gentleBreathin' that moves the seasMake my sails fillWhisper waves cloud the glassAwake at last like a loverIt rushed around the talkin' sweetRoll over, roll over, roll overAnd in my ear he blew his nameIt sound so strange but I heard it plainMistral Mistral windI have always held the wheel butI let the wind steal my powerSpin me 'round lose my courseNights run be like hoursWell, it would show me the wayTo the deepest mountainsToo high and beautiful to beMistral, mistral windAll the hours on the watchI wait for that breeze to move meAnd blow me back to that placeMagic space all through meAnd I sigh your nameAcross the empty waterYou made a crazy dreamer out of meMistral, mistral, mistral, mistral,Mistral, mistral

I've seen a dog play with a butterfly. I've seen a butterfly playing with a raven. I've had a butterfly with a wingspan of about 1/2 a foot wave "Hello" to me. Conception and gravity and light and warmth and so much more . . . longing to be felt by you.

I always thoroughly enjoy turning up the volume on this tune. 100db+ or 110Watts/ channel X4 in an enclosed room 11' X 11' It messes with my head.

Growing up I am so thankful to have had an older sister who was so in to Heart that listening to their music had me hooked on them as well. I can honestly say there are none of Heart's songs that I don't like!!! Awesome group!!
