Much of the credit should go to Richard Rodgers,(Music),and even more to Lorenz Hart,(Lyrics),for giving us this ever so touching song. Even Simon, who gives this such a lush, yet honest treatment, lets us know it is one of the lesser known works of Rodgers & Hart. I love that she includes the vocal introduction, and believe her choosing to sing it once through might be due to the very well thought out lyric at finish of " He Was Too Good To be true." Sounds 'simple', yet is quite profound.

I've listened to this song by a few singers now, and I think Carly's rendition is the best.She sings with such emotion and feeling, and makes you feel like the song is written about someone in your own life...I love it.....Thanks for posting.
