Calling this Christian music is beyond absurd. There is nothing Christian about it. Besides the obvious self absorption of the artists that dress and adorn themselves no differently than any 'secular' metal band, the grinding, driving multisyncopated beat together with the screaming guitars and sensuous movements of the lead singer, serve to create an atmosphere of chaos and wanton thinking. How can the Holy Spirit work in the midst of such hedonism and noise? There is only one spirit that works in this kind of environment. Hint: it isn't from the Godhead.
