I think Simon King and Richard Chadwick where the best boys on drums for hawkwind but I like Simon House and Nik Turner and Dik Mik and Lemmy Liquid len and the Lensmen.....and Bob Calvert and Dave Brock,Stactia and Huw Lloyd Langton (,,,best guitar).Hawkwind is great band

Ginger was a good drummer but his over inflated ego ruined the potential and he only ended up lasting a few months. There's only enough room for Dave Brock's ego in Hawkwind! His sacking did result in one of the most famous quotes of Hawkwind :-"The worst bass player in the world sacks the best drummer in the world!" Taken from Melody Maker and likely taken from Ginger Baker who had an immense dislike of Harvey Bainbridge.

Last truly great album of them. After this came still some interesting releases, but never anymore in the classic Hawkwind style.Although Alan Davey didn't do half bad with 1996 "Captured Rotation'....

Just think, if Ginger Baker had had his way, Jack Bruce would have also been in the Mighty Wind. Not sure if that wouldve been such a bad thing. Harvey was a much better keyboardist than bass player
