http://www.metalmethod.com - November 15, 1985 - a time when men with giant hair roamed the earth. Their addiction to hairspray is often sighted as the primary reason for the destruction of the earth's ozone layer.

Hawk was lead guitarist Doug Marks (Metal Method guitar instructor), bassist Lonnie Miller (King Kobra, Bullet Boys), Scott Travis on drums (Judas Priest, Fight, Racer X), and Charlie Morrill.

This performance is from Hawk's Roxy show in Hollywood, California. This combination of musicians never recorded an album. The Hawk album was released the following year and featured only Doug Marks from this lineup with vocalist David Fefolt (Masi), and drummer Matt Sorum.

I took lessons from Doug back in Denver in 82'. He was the best teacher / mentor I've ever had. He is the major reason that I still play guitar some 30 years later. THANKS DOUG!

Doug do you have to be a prodigy to be a good guitarist? For me it didn't happen overnight. My brother had a friend who could pick up things by ear right away because he was a straight A student and gifted.

Loved the solo in this song. I'm taking private skype lessons right now from doug, I think I will see if he can integrate parts of this tune into the lessons. Good tune should have been a hit in my opinion.

Holy Crap......Doug, I remember ordering your lessons back in the 80's when I got Hit Parader and Circus rock magazines. They were a paper pamphlet full of info and the cassette tape. You were awesome back then instructing with the primitive material of the time. Sadly, marriage and kids set my guitar playing off for 20 years. NOW however, I have an empty nest, have two guitars and a Marshall. I still know some of the basics but want to start over and do it right!! What do you recommend?
